Knock Detection Resolution SETUP – KSC3

Knock Detection Resolution SETUP – KSC3

June 12, 2024 Off By RICHARD

The KSC3 has two settings for knock detection resolution. 14.4KHz and 7.2KHz. 7.2KHz has a higher resolution than 14.4 but 14.4 setting should be used at least when setting up the KSC3.

It’s recommended to only use the 7.2KHz setting when you are familiar with the product and you want to experiment. 14.4KHz should give sufficient knock detection performance.

If you change the resolution the KSC3 will need to be powered down and restarted for the changes to take affect. The frequency detection window settings will also need to be changed and it advised to redo the Knock frequency identification process and the baseline volume setup process.
